Candles have travelled a long way since they were invented. From providing a basic source of light to decorating the house it is now the most sought after gift to give anyone.

Candles were first made out of tallow that was animal residue and it emanated a pungent smell. Beeswax was then invented that was easy on the nose but a pocket cutter; so only the rich could use it. Paraffin was then invented from crude petroleum and is now most widely used.

Before beginning your candle making venture make sure you have all the supplies. You could make the wax or gel or purchase it from outside. As a beginner it is better you purchase it as it is a messy affair and you need to concentrate on the candle in the beginning instead of the wax.
